TVA is the bigger part of the bill; the €3 duty adds up when a small parcel mixes many kinds of goods. A lighter, single-category parcel — three T-shirts rather than a T-shirt, a cap and trainers — is the cheapest way to use the new rule.

Verdict: In France the choice of shipping line matters as much as the duty: pick one that collects TVA upfront.

Who delivers agent parcels in Paris?

Agent parcels to France are usually delivered by La Poste (Colissimo) or Chronopost after arriving in the EU; some lines use DPD, GLS or a relay-point network. For Paris buildings:

• Digicode and floor: add your building code, staircase and floor in the address line — drivers can't always call up.
• Relay points: if you're out during the day, a point relais or locker near you is often more reliable than home delivery.
• Name on the letterbox: make sure it matches the name on the parcel, or the carrier may return it.

If French customs asks for information

When customs data is incomplete, the carrier may contact you to confirm the value or provide an invoice before delivery. Your agent's order page, showing what you paid for each item, and a screenshot of the payment are usually enough. Reply through the carrier's official site or app, reached from its own address, not through a link in an unexpected SMS asking for a small fee.
